Burrowing Owls

10% of all profits from the sale of prints in this gallery will be donated to the Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife. CCFW is a volunteer organization dedicated to education, preservation and protection of all wildlife in Cape Coral including the Burrowing Owl population that I'm especially passionate about.

Many people would be disappointed to have rainy days while visiting Florida but I couldn't have been happier. We had almost three full days of rain and the Burrowing Owls put on quite a show! However....too much rain in the spring can mean problems for the owls if burrows get flooded and the owlets are not old enough to fly and wait things out. There was an adult pair and 6 owlets at this particular burrow and luckily all the owlets were far advanced in their development.
